About Us

CDT’s roots go back to the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, California. For those Games, Dr. Kim Jasper served as the Director of Doping Control and Gender Verification. Shortly after the Olympics, Kim founded CDT. She remains CDT’s president today, more than 35 years later. CDT’s first client back then was Major League Baseball – who remains a client to this day.

Soon after opening its doors, CDT naturally expanded to serve the workforce drug and alcohol testing market, continuing our pioneering ways. In 1990, Kim Jasper served as one of the original members of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Drug Testing Advisory Board. NIDA is now known as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Over time, CDT has continued to evolve and stay current in both Sports and Workforce testing. On the Sports front, we offer testing services to seven different sports leagues across North America. Our innovations include leveraging technology to provide seamless service and expanding into new collection methods, including dried blood spot testing (DBS).

In Workforce testing, we are subject matter experts on DOT and non-DOT testing. Supporting our clients across the country, we remain current and up to date on all regulations and trends in the industry. Whether it is the FMCSA Clearinghouse or the different ways marijuana and THC are treated across the country, we make sure our clients are as knowledgeable as we are.

We continue to add services to support our clients. Whether it’s background screening, verifications of employment, or standalone mobile collections, we listen first, to learn what’s needed, and then we go about delivering solutions. That’s how we ended up offering COVID-19 Testing Services to our clients. We provide on-site collections and overall testing management to customers across the country. It allowed our sports clients to resume their seasons, our university clients to maintain a safe campus environment, and our Fortune 500 clients to protect their employees.

Today, we stand ready to continue serving our clients wherever they have needs. We have more than 200 field-based team members, collecting samples across the world for sports and workforce clients, all supported by our expert team from our Irvine, California headquarters.

Our Team

CDT's dedicated team boasts decades of experience and supports clients around the clock and across the country.
